The Perfect Plant Gift Guide
A plant is one of the best gifts you can give. It's never forgotten in a drawer. It actually does something for the space it lives in. Giving someone a great plant is like giving them a small daily reminder that someone was thinking of them.

Here's how to actually get it right.
Pick the Plant for the Person, Not Just a Plant
Think about who you're shopping for. Someone who travels a lot or forgets to water needs something forgiving, like a ZZ plant or a snake plant. Someone with a bright, sunny space can handle something more dramatic, like a calathea or a rubber tree. We're always happy to help you find the right match!

The Pot Matters Just as Much as the Plant
This might surprise you, but the pot is not an afterthought. Every pot in our collection is chosen by our creative team, including Jason Clifton. He oversees the vessel selection with the same eye he brings to interior design. Nothing on our shelves is random. It's all selected with an understanding of what works in a real home and what will still look intentional years from now.

The starting point is always the room the plant is going into. Warm, natural spaces call for earthy textures like hand-thrown ceramics or woven baskets. Clean, modern spaces want something more architectural, like matte black or simple geometric forms. A bolder, more collected home can handle a pot with real personality. The plant and the pot should feel like they found each other.

One Practical Thing to Check: Drainage
Before falling in love with a pot, ask if it has a drainage hole. This matters more than people think. Without one, water collects at the bottom, soil stays wet, and roots start to rot. It's one of the most common reasons a healthy plant declines.
If the pot has drainage, you're set. If it doesn't, you have two good options. You can drill a hole yourself with a ceramic or masonry bit, which takes just a few minutes. Or you can keep the plant in its nursery pot and set that inside the decorative pot, watering it separately and letting it drain before placing it back. This is called double potting, and it lets you use almost any pot you love without any risk to the plant.

Don't Forget the Extras
A great plant gift can go even further with a few small additions. A plant mister, a nice pair of pruning shears, or a bottle of plant fertilizer turns a gift into a complete starter kit, especially for someone new to plant care. We also love a fun plant stick tucked into the soil. It's a small detail that always makes it extra special.
Come Find the Right Combination

This is one of our favorite conversations to have in the studio. Tell us about the space, the light, and the person you're shopping for, and we'll help you find a plant and pot pairing that actually feels right. The plant is here. The pot is here. Let's put them together.
